My grandpap just passed away yesterday, and his funeral will be held this Saturday. I automatically wanted to have flowers delivered to the funeral home. Is this appropriate? Am I suppose to have flowers delivered, or is this something just friends of the family members do?

My fiancé’s grandfather died today and I am unable to make the trip to be at the funeral. Out of respect for a wonderful man, I’d like to send flowers (or something deliverable) to his widow. Because I am close to the family, would it be proper to send the gift to their home they shared or to the funeral home?
Also, anything ideas for a more personal gift that I can send other than flowers?

Husband’s former fiance’s mom has died. They were engaged 25 years ago. He was, however, very close to her family for several years and we live in an area where he still sees some of her siblings. I think flowers are appropriate & he agrees. But he thinks I should sign card from both of us. I never met the woman and do not know either his former fiance or her siblings. I believe the card should be signed only from him.

I need to send flowers, and the viewing is on Monday. However, since Monday is Labor Day, I’m coming across a lot of online flower delivery sites that do not give Monday as an option. If I want to go with one of these, is it okay to deliver the flowers the day before the viewing? Is this usually what people do, or do they have them delivered the morning of the viewing?
