Clematis – when to cut back?
Stupid question I know but clematis now in bloom (large dark purple flowers) but don’t if this is called spring/summer flowering!
I would appreciate advice on when and how to care for this climber.

I cut back the stem on my Phalenopsis & now it’s turned black & rotten looking. Is this normal? Please help.
The flowers fell off in the late summer so I cut the stem down to the meristem and within a matter of months, possibly weeks, the stem began to turn dark brown. I’m afraid this may be spreading. What conditions should I be suppling it? More/less: water, light, food, minerals, compost??? Thanks.
