Dear (Name of Company),
Thank you for your lovely tribute of flowers for the funeral of (Name of Family Member). **** Your kind thoughts and sympathies are very much appreciated at this time by (Name of Widow/er, Children or other immediate family) and all (Family Member's name)'s many friends and family.
Yours sincerely,
(Name of Person Signing)
If you wanted it to be a little more personal, you could add something where the asterisks are, such as "S/he was a wonderful friend and caring person, and all the family have been deeply moved by the many tributes we have received."

Don't know about the listerine but the lime and sugar provide essential sugars the plants require for survival (they can continue to produce their own food for longer).

While I do not know of a wholesale flower shop you could go through a local florist and ask them to order for you, they may give you a discount for promoting local business.
As for the flowers I think it depends on the formality and theme/ style of your wedding. My wedding is an environmentally friendly Irish theme so my bouquets are going to be very small with the bridesmaids possibly not holding any at all. I have seen some brides carry the roses across their arms much as a beauty or prom queen and still others with huge bouquets. A traditional bouquet with standard roses I would think should contain about 20 to 25 roses. The size should also compliment your body type and your dress. Its not a hard and fast rule but more of a personal option.

u know u posted excellent question
let me tell u
2 reasons y they last for loner time
1 the above ans is right
2 the sugar or lime dont allow the microbes
u know just check under the microsope once
u take normal vase water guess what
u can find a mini ecosystem with rotifers protozoans
bacteria fungi
so these constantly pest on the flower base parts eventually lettting them to degrade

A thank you letter is much too formal. I think a handwritten thank you inside a thank you card would be more appropriate for such an occasion. The business I work for sends flower arrangements to funerals, and the only thing I've seen in return is a thank you card.
You don't need to write anything too lengthy. Just something in your own words, like:
The flowers you sent were a beautiful gesture. During this difficult time, it reminded our family that others are keeping us in their thoughts and prayers. Your thoughtfulness is truly appreciated.
Or...
During this difficult time, the flowers you sent were a beautiful reminder of the love and support of family and friends. Your thoughtfulness is apprectiated.

sugar will provide some food for the flowers; the lime and listerine will inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi which cause the flowers to rot. this will then prolong their life.
you could also use a drop of bleach in a vase of water, or a copper coin in the vase - both will inhibit fungal/bacterial growth. whatever you use, don't use too much or you may actually poison the plants and they'll die even faster.
